From Markets to Our Own Shop: The Casa de Cookie Journey

If you’ve ever strolled through Los Llanos Market on a sunny morning, you might have spotted a stall that always seemed to have a crowd and the scent of fresh-baked cookies drifting on the breeze. That’s where Casa de Cookie began: with a love of baking and a simple stall stacked high with deluxe, American-style cookies—something a bit different from anything else on offer.

What started as an experiment at Los Llanos soon grew as we visited markets across the area, meeting locals, regulars, and visitors from all over. We quickly learned that our cookies had found their place, and there was nothing quite like seeing someone take their first bite of a soft, chewy cookie with a gooey, filled centre. People came back for more, and soon enough, we realised it was time to find a home for Casa de Cookie that went beyond market days.

We’re excited to announce that Casa de Cookie is opening its first shop in Huércal-Overa this August. The shop is currently being renovated from top to bottom, and it’s thanks to an incredible team of family, friends, and supporters—our own little army—who have been there at every step. From cleaning and decorating to painting, taste-testing recipes, and just lending a hand when needed, Casa de Cookie truly is a team effort.

So, what can you expect from our new shop? For a start, you’ll find the full range of our filled cookies—soft, chewy, and nothing like the biscuits you find in the supermarket. Each cookie is baked fresh, packed with flavour, and features a surprise filling inside, whether you’re after double chocolate chip, lemon cheesecake, or something a little different like our churro-flavoured cookies.

The shop is the perfect place to pop into after doing your shopping at Mercadona or Lidl. Whether you’re in the mood for a proper English tea or a café manchada the Spanish way, we’ll have you covered. Settle in for a quick break, a catch-up with friends, or just a moment to yourself with something sweet and a hot drink.

Most of all, Casa de Cookie is about bringing a bit of joy to everyday life—one cookie at a time. We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome you in, whether you’re a market regular, a first-time visitor, or just passing by.
